First run in fly through insoles. The overall feel of the insoles is a little bit heavier than the fly over insoles. The overall feel is a bit stiff but soft.I’m not sure the addition of cushioning is worth the addition of weight. Will continue to play in these to see if stiffness subsides.
Traction has been great so far on all courts…the fit on the Jordan 2012 has been the biggest strength of the shoe so far. Second run in fly over insoles and so far nothing to really get excited over. The articulated zoom air unit in the forefoot doesn’t quite perform like a standard zoom air unit. The articulation isn’t quite necessary due to all of the layers added with the modularity of the shoes. You really don’t get that rebound normal zoom air gives because of the lack of true surface area on the unit.Another area of concern is I managed to crack the carbon fiber shank on both shoes. Two small stress cracks that are related. Will be keeping an eye on these to see if these cracks expand.
Jordan 2012 today with fly over insole.I really like the fit of the 2012.Traction was pretty good on the dirty floor. One major gripe was the shoe felt like I was high off the ground more than hyperdunk 2011 and Kobe vii. The full removable boot and then the insole feels like it wasted the lower stance of the outsole.Unlike the hyperdunk 2011 who’s cushioning made up for the higher ride or traction of Kobe vii I was a little bit underwhelmed with the 2012.Not saying that won’t change wit more time logged in the shoe.Fit really stood out and hopefully I can get enough time in these where I can really get the true feel of the midsoles.
Hyperenforcers have passed all traction tests so far but ran into a different issue last night and that was the shoe noticeably folding during harsh cuts.I could literally feel the shoe twisting from the force exerted pushing off.I want to say lack of structure on the upper and what feels like a softer midsole foam. Will have to keep an eye out for it in the future.
Traction really is the strength of the shoe..hyperenforcer seemed to fit better wearing thicker Nike elite socks but still never really got that true lockdown feel over the instep. Not sure about other versions but laces are stiff and too short on PE version being reviewed.
Nike hyperenforcer impressions-I didn’t like the fit over the instep and expected the shoe to give the full fit I’ve been used to wearing the hyperfuse.Lack of structure through the side panels but with poor fit doesn’t mimic the feel of the hyperdunk 2011 either.cushioning was good on par with hyperfuse 2011 and traction really stood out.
Nike zoom rookie impressions..nice fit but went to 10.5 against my normal 10..feel similar to the flightposites..not much cushioning in forefoot but shoe is nice and rigid for active play.Traction was very good on a pretty clean court.
Play strong last night…traction has been excellent on all 3 courts I play in..stiffness I felt Sunday was gone after first game and overall feel of the shoe was better on the play strong..lunar/cushlon midsole doesn’t give feedback like zoom air but impact protection is better and felt a little bit lighter…I think the ankle sleeve is annoying however it reduces the amount of heel slip i was experiencing..wore Nike elite socks and didn’t experience rubbing on the arches I had on Sunday…forgot to check socks if there was wear in that area…
Another night in Kobe 7’s..was initially planning on going in the play strong midsoles but didn’t wear high enough socks so went with the play fast zoom insoles instead.Still experiencing a little stiffness in the overall feel of the shoe. One theory may be since the midsoles are removable, that creates an extra layer between the midsole and outsole that normally isn’t there.Traction continues to be the strength of the shoe.Despite some minor heel lift which I believe is a result of the heel counter and how the actual heel is unsupported, the shoe keeps up with me in hard cuts.People with high insteps will have problems with the lack of padding on the tongue
Kobe 7 attack strong today….let’s get one thing clear…the ankle sleeve doesn’t do anything…it won’t prevent injury. The lunar foam insole was great at deflecting impact but provided little court feedback.thin socks are not recommended as I felt some rubbing on the arch towards the third game.I was wearing older, thin dri fit socks..At this point I like the overall feel of the zoom air insole. The ankle sleeve and lack of responsiveness on the strong insole do little for me but will continue to alternate through review.Traction has been excellent so far.
